Hello, I recently purchased an art deco cigarette case and have been trying to research the maker, age, and value. I am not sure what the base metal is below the lacquer but I do see what looks like green oxidation on the interior which makes me believe it is brass/bronze/copper although I am not positive. I am not sure what the base metal is below the lacquer but I do see what looks like green oxidation on the interior which makes me believe it is brass/bronze/copper although I am not positive. The case measures 4β L x 3 1/8" W x 3/8" D and weighs 132.2grams.The case also has a J or R stamped on the interior of each side. The closest example of a lacquer cigarette case with egg shell applique I could find that was similar to this one is the one at the following link, but I could not locate any info on how Jean Dunand would sign his pieces. http://www.artnet.com/artists/jean-dunand/bo%C3%AEte-%C3%A0-cigarettes-_MkD_S_ES_dHHE36ouzl7w2 I have also included a few images of the piece below and as you can see it does have a chip in the lacquer near the clasp. Thank you for your time and help! Kind Regards, AJ
