I know it's quite a valuable doll. The body might be the wrong one, it should be one of a child. A collector pointed to me that the head has some defaults and it could be a copy. How can I know if this is true ? Can you help ? I had offers of 2500 - 3000 Euros
45cm
from my mother's collection of doll. It has been in her collection since 40 years, but I don't know how she got it,
H Marc,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The offers of €2,500-3,000 is actually a little high if this were an assembled doll, suggesting to me that this is actually authentic/correct and it does seem to be right, though it's evident that it's been taken apart quite a bit (every time that happens, the joints wear a bit). This model of K&R dolls have been selling between $3,000-6,000 at auction recently, but all of them have more extensive wardrobes. I would be surprised if you got quite that much if you offered it at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Hi Marc,
You did not specify that you wanted a history of the doll in your appraisal and while there are probably copies of K&R dolls out there, in my 20+ experience with antique dolls, the only copies I've seen are notably cruder and not nearly as finely modeled. The value you were offered is in line with what this doll tends to bring at auction; I would not alter my valuation to give you a false impression of what this is worth.
Kammer & Reinhardt is the ONLY doll maker to have a model #112. The company was founded in 1885 by Ernst Kammer (sculptor) and Franz Reinhard (merchant). When Kammer died in 1901, Karl Krausser took over his position as designer and sculptor and K&R only designed heads but did not make them (though they were still impressed K&R and it is difficult if not impossible to tell who made them, for the K&R company). K&R existed only until the early 1930s. K&R dolls are of very good quality, with value proportionate to condition and survival of original clothing and parts.
Please let me know if you have other questions that I can answer for you.
I did not learn much from this appraisal ! I already suggested the same range of price.
I was more interested of the history of this model and if it as been copied or not
