What does this mean?

Dear Richard,

I apologize for the late reaction to you.
Your Hotai statue is indeed made in Japan and is indeed Kutani production. I see quite large quantity's of these type of porcelain passing by on markets at least in Europe were I live. I do not believe they used 24 carat gold to paint them to be honest. I believe it is just gold paint. Buddha figures are alway's sought after and yours is also of good size. Date wise I would say 1970ties / 1980 ties. I believe if your Hotai was presented in an auction house or sales room the estimation could be made.
