WWI drawings by L. Malespina
It was given to me by my step father.
Dear Dean,
Thanks for your request. This are three tabloid watercolors on paper showing as a motif scenes from the WW I. One watercolor shows British soldiers in marching formation and it is signed "L. Malespina", dated "20.3.18" and located with "Route du Luneville". The second watercolor shows French soldiers marching and it is signed and dated 23.3.18. The third watercolor shows civilians filling an hole on a street. It is also signed and dated. This watercolors were made by the French artist Louis-Ferdinand Malespina (1874-1940), who is mostly famous for his horse racing paintings. Also he made during the WW I many drawings and watercolors showing the everyday life during the war time. An estimate for this three tabloid watercolors would be from 250 to 500 USD.
With kind regards,
Georg
