I’m looking for help identifying the artist or origin of this landscape oil painting as well as understand its value. It likely dates to the early 20th century, and may originate from Eastern Europe (Baltics) or possibly Scandinavia. The scene depicts a calm river with two figures and a small boat, surrounded by trees and soft clouded sky. Uploaded close-up of the signature to Chat GPT and in its opinion signature appears to read something like "A. Uddahl", though it’s somewhat stylized and hard to decipher. It may also be a Nordic or Baltic-German name. Clothing in the painting (kerchief on the woman, hat on the man) might suggest Latvian, Estonian, or Ukrainian rural dress. Frame of the painting is new.

Dear Mārtiņš Krūmiņš,
Thank you for the appraisal submission. The work is an oil painting on canvas. It is a copy of Jogin Pavel Pavlovich's (Russian, 1834 - 1835) Untitled landscape painting. Pavlovich was known for his paintings of the outskirts of St. Petersburg, Estonia, Novgorod and Chernigov provinces, so it is possible the painting is depicting one of these areas. The subject work appears to be signed illegibly to the lower right corner, and the artist of this work remains unknown. From the images provided, the work is in Fair condition with slight discoloration and staining to the surface, and frame abrasions to the margins. Noting the condition and signs of aging to the verso of the canvas, the work is likely from the mid-20th century. It measures 43 x 60cm.
As the painting is a copy painting and not an original, it does not carry the same value as works attributed to Pavlovich. There is no proper market for Pavlovich copy paintings, and the artist's own secondary market is sparse. For these reasons, the Fair Market Value is estimated based on other copy painting trends, landscape paintings of the 20th century, and Russian landscape paintings. With these trends, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between 0 and 200EUR.
