machine loomed American made patterned carpet
Vintage American made Persian style carpet; dates to 1920's; size 12'x15', wool, fringe missing on both ends; very worn in center section; small moth holes holes in various locations, but none are worn through the backing; colors remain bright; professionally cleaned approximately 20 years ago small water stain in center. Carpet has been rolled up and stored for 10 years.
Family owned and used by three generations. Interested to know if it is repairable/restorable and value estimate. Is it worth repairing/restoring? Could it be cut down? Would it be worth doing so?

You don't say what you'd do with smaller carpet (is it too large for the space? would you use it to make cushions?) but I generally don't recommend cutting a rug like that up. It could be costly to repair and I'm not sure it would be worth it unless you feel its quite unsightly as is (it looks very nice to me but then again, I'm not in front of it).
