Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Persian Hamadan Rug, dating back to the period between 1970-1990. Hamadan pieces are known as a type of Persian Tribal rugs, famous for their durable nature. Hamadan pieces has some characteristic patterns that it shares with couple of other Persia pieces. The rotated square like shapes decorated with flowers and constrcuted between other floral motifs are called "Herati" Pattern. "Herati" pattern is a characteristic addition to floral decorations in Persian Tribal rugs to enhance the decoration. This piece is centrally decorated with a central medallion, the medallion is also florally ddecorated. The piece's base colour is dark blue. This Hamadan piece foundation is cotton and it's pile is wool which means this piece belongs to the later pieces from 20th century. The piece is in good condition without any visible fault.
