??Murano Sommerso glass bowl.
15cm x 10cm x 4 cm
Hello, this item is a mid-century Italian faceted sommerso glass bowl or ashtray, likely Murano production, circa 1960s–1970s. Measuring approximately 15 × 10 × 4 cm, it has a warm salmon-pink to amber interior surrounded by thick clear glass, with sharply cut and polished geometric facets producing a diamond-like profile. This type of heavy, geometrically cut sommerso glass was produced by several Murano workshops, including firms associated with Mandruzzato, Campanella, and other specialist moleria houses. A worn scalloped foil label survives on one side, supporting an Italian/Murano attribution, although its remaining lettering is not sufficiently legible to assign the piece securely to a specific maker.
The bowl appears complete and presents well, with the surviving label adding interest, although normal light surface wear is visible. The quality of the thick glass, controlled internal coloration, polished facets, and substantial construction place it above ordinary decorative pressed glass. Without a clearly identifiable factory label, signature, or documented provenance, it should be marketed as a vintage Murano or Murano-attributed sommerso bowl rather than specifically as Mandruzzato or another named manufacturer.
