From oral history, my mother said this doll was given to her when she was 6 years old - 1918. She was born in 1912. It's my understanding this doll has a china (procelain) face. There are no clothes for the doll that I know of!
My mother owned this doll and I inherited it. The doll only had one owner, my mother.
Dear Judy,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and your patience.
The presented object appears to be a porcelain head doll which is marked in the neck with the numbers "121" and the number "62". The design of the numbers reminds me of dolls by the German producer "Simon & Halbig" who always named his producer mark. This dated this doll into the first half of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 80 to 160 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
