Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a 1920s or 1930s oak drop front desk made from solid and oak veneered plywood. This would have been the typical workplace of the time just perfect to store paper, letters and writing utensils, plus extra storage place for tablecloth etc. The general taste and ways of writing have changed, therefore prices for drop front desks have dropped. The estimate is based on similar sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
