80" length by 36" height
Dear John Salerno,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a contemporary acrylic painting with plaster on panel. It features a plant and plate of lemons amongst abstract geometric forms. The work is by Kim Armstrong (American, 20th/21st century) and signed to the lower right. It is difficult to discern the true condition of this work from a single photograph, but it appears to be in good condition. It is a horizontal composition measuring 36 x 80 inches.
Kim Armstrong is a California-raised artist who grew up with architectural and artistic influences from her parents. Her work has been exhibited numerous times on the West Coast, including Seattle. Much of Armstrong's work considers organic forms, like the recurring theme of the Fibonacci sequence, as seen in the subject work. Armstrong does not have a secondary market record, with most of her paintings being sold directly through the artist or by commercial spaces. Commercial sales prices are often higher than conservative market value estimates by appraisers. Without a secondary market record, the estimate of Fair Market Value instead considers the artist's public commercial prices and a comparison of stylistically similar and contemporary works on the secondary market. With these trends analyzed, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between $200 and $500.
Thank you again for your appraisal submission. If you have any questions please leave a comment below.
