This is an original mid 20th century oil on canvas painting depicting a landscape with a country house. It is signed A. Dodson at lower left. There is one scantly listed artist, Ann Scott Dodson, from St. Louis who was actively painting in the mid 20th century. The artist's name is not to be confused with the contemporary Caribbean theme works of another Ann Dodson. The notations on the backside appear to read as Med. Belgian Oils and Sterling Farm; for the medium being Belgian oil paints and the view possibly of a place called Sterling Farm. The country house is more English in style than Dutch gabled architecture. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
