What does this mean?

Hello, this item is a limited edition bronze sculpture by Zurab Tsereteli titled Birth of the New World, standing 10.5 inches tall. Signed and dated 1991, the piece is stamped by the St. Petersburg Mint and numbered 3 of only 4 known castings. The sculpture represents a scaled model of the monumental 360-foot Columbus statue that Tsereteli ultimately erected in Puerto Rico after being rejected by multiple U.S. cities. This maquette, or presentation model, was introduced during the quincentenary of Columbus’s 1492 voyage and carries strong political and commemorative symbolism tied to post-Soviet diplomacy and U.S.–Russia relations.

The provenance adds significant value: being part of a four-piece edition and reportedly connected to presidential gifting (one version allegedly given to Bill Clinton) positions this object as a rare collector’s piece tied to a major public monument. Tsereteli is a controversial but internationally recognized artist whose large-scale works appear globally. Based on its size, mint stamp, edition rarity, and connection to a known public monument, the estimated market value for this maquette ranges from $7,000 to $12,000.
