Old oil on canvas attached to a wooden backing inside a large gold decorative frame. Shows a peacock with several other farm animals. Can see and feel the brush strokes, however unable to determine the artist exact name as shown. Frame is 16x20
Was found inside an old abandon building on our local town square in Glasgow Kentucky. This is all we really know about it.
Dear Bryan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on wood with measurements of 16 x 20 inches. The painting depicts a barnyard with various birds like a peacock, ducks, cocks, and turkeys. It is painted in a somewhat haphazard style. It is signed with the name "Daniel", which is assumed to be an alias because such paintings are typical of artworks made as decorative art in Asia especially in China in the last third of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
