This painting was inherited about 20 years ago. All I know is it came to Australia from England at least 80 years ago. Original frame that has been restored.
England
This is a circa 1900 original oil painting with frame of a landscape scene with people. It is illegibly signed at lower right with a first initial of R and the last name appears to start in the letter F or T. The painting is likely Continental or British. It is well rendered and done by an accomplished hand with adept use of atmospheric perspective that captures a morning fog lifting with the sunrise. Illegibly signed, the estimate is based on past sale records of comparables of other works with this level of skill, the depiction, age and condition.
Hi, I have uploaded some more images of the signature. I hope they are good enough as my mother did them as the painting is at home a long way from me. She got the painting down off the wall with the help of a friend and forgot to take a picture of it. It didnt have any markings or signatures or dates on the back of it though.
Thank you for the additional images. Please allow me some time to look these over for you.
Hi Nora, I have uploaded more images of the back and the signature. Could you let me know when you will be able to give me a valuation please? Thanks very much
Hi Andrea, Thank you for the additional images. I have not been able to decipher the signature on this painting for you.
Hi Nora, Ok so what does that mean for a valuation? I have paid for a valuation. I know its probably frustrating not being able to work out the signature but i really need something please? Thanks again
Hi Nora

I need to get a new up dated appraisal for this item. How do I arrange this please? Thanks
Can someone let me know how I can get this piece re appraised please
Hi Andrea, At your convenience, please add more well-lit close-ups of the signature from different angles as well as a view of the backside (do not remove from frame).
