Here is a crystal bowl by Gunnar Cyren of Orrefors. Bottom reads "Orrefors 998672 Gunnar Cyren EAJ - 93" I believe. And is signed again simply "Cyren" in the center of the bowl underneath. The colors very between blue and purple with these white lines and dots, its an asymmetrical centerpiece bowl. It measures 13"W and about 10.5" T. Purchased at the artist's studio in Stockholm, not sure of the date but likely late 20th century. Not very heavy, considering its size. It is very reflective and you can see the design from inside and outside of the bowl.

Hi Louisa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Orrefors website notes Gunnar Cyrén (1931–2013) was a Swedish glass artist, silversmith, and industrial designer. He studied in the metal department at one of Sweden's most prestigious art and design universities.
In 1959, Cyrén was hired at Orrefors glassworks and became head of design ten years later. His major works for Orrefors include the Pop Glass collection from the 60s and the stemware in the Nobel set, which he designed for the Nobel Banquet in 1991. The Nobel collection is used at the annual banquet in Stockholm City Hall to this day and is still available in Orrefors’ assortment. His work was exhibited many times during his career at Heller Gallery in New York City.
Gunnar Cyrén received numerous distinctions, including the Prince Eugen Medal from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, the Swedish Royal Scholarship, and the Lunning Prize. In 1992, he was also awarded the title of professor by the Swedish government.
Cyren's designs were adapted to both colored and clear glass, with his colorful patterns and pieces being considerably more preferred, favored and valued by collectors.
While I haven't been able to find this exact pattern, based on the auction results of similarly colorful examples, I would expect this to sell for between $300 and $500.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Hi Louisa,
I suspect, because I can't find any other exact matches, that it was possibly a studio or experimental piece. You'd think that would make it more valuable but collectors want low-production pieces rather than one-offs, which would need better documentary support and proof of production run from the company.

Do you think this was more of a studio expo piece or something that was made in larger quantities?
