This pistol has been in storage for the last 45 years. The P38 pistol is dated 1945 with serial number 6351 b. The gun is marked on the receiver. P38. 6351 b ac45. I believe this is a Mauser produced in the last batch prior to the takeover of the factory by the allies. The bluing is good except for spots of expected wear. The pistol has all matched serial numbers. The case is black and shows some wear. It is marked “P38. bla 1944”

Hello, this item is a German Walther P38 semi automatic pistol produced in 1945, identifiable by the P.38 designation, serial number 6351 b, and the ac45 manufacturer code, which denotes late wartime production by Walther under German military contracts. The markings, construction, and late finish characteristics are consistent with final year Second World War manufacture, a period marked by material shortages and simplified production methods. The serial number block and inspection marks align with known late war P38 examples, and the pistol represents one of the last standard issue German service sidearms produced before the end of the conflict.
The pistol shows good overall condition for its age, with original bluing largely intact and areas of wear consistent with handling and long term storage rather than heavy field use. All visible serial numbers appear to match, which is an important factor for collector value. The included black hard leather holster marked “P38 bla 1944” is period correct, though it predates the pistol slightly, a common and acceptable pairing seen on the collector market. The absence of a magazine does affect completeness but does not negate the historical or collectible significance. Based on current market data for matching late war P38 pistols with holster, the fair market value is estimated in the range of USD 900 to USD 1,300.
