This is a lovely Southeast Asian dragon paddle that was probably never intended for use but rather more of a decorative function with that beautifully carved dragon handle. Other related paddles that have sold at auction in recent years have brought fair market prices ranging from $600-900.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

An antique Southeast Asian carved hardwood dragon paddle
Possibly Indonesian, late 19th/early 20th Century
The broad flat face finished to a point, the handle carved into a dragon. Presumably unsigned.
170 cm (67 inches) long
CONDITION: This paddle appears to be in very good original condition.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
