Purchased as set Male and female stone carved figures. The male figure is 10 1/2 inches long 2 1/2 inches wide and the female 10 inches long 2 inches wide.
Part of the Stan Reynolds Museum auction.
Dear Gracie,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be two figurines made out of jadeite with the measurements for the male figure: 10 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, and the female figure: 10 inches long, 2 inches wide. Both figures are decorated and depicted in Mayan style but the condition of the surface indicates and younger date. The traces of the tools are still visible and the stone surface is not polished or shows any use and ages. This indicates that these figures are made in the 20th century. The auction house indicated these doubts with the description "Mayan style" and if their experts would be sure about the authenticity they would write "Mayan figures".
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 5 to 20 USD each.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
I attached a screenshot of the invoice. That is the only documentation that I received from the auction house.
Thanks,
Gracie
