This is a 19th century, about 1880, Victorian era, Consolidated Glass, pink satin biscuit jar in their puffy or tufted diamond quilted pattern with silver plated rim mount, lid and handle. This is not the guttate pattern, which is done in a puffy draped form. These used to sell for significantly higher a few decades ago and the market was further impacted by the Recession. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
