Jug just over 5" tall
This belongs to my father. He purchased several pieces similar to this over the years and would like to know the value, if there is any.
Hi again Camilla,
This item also appears to be a Chimú culture pottery double whistling vessel from the Northern portion of Peru. The head on this object appears to depict a bird, perhaps. Many double whistling vessel depicts birds.
As previously mentioned, dating the item would require in-person examination. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of similar figures in similar dimensions. Please note that dealer or private prices may vary. Further, estimates are contingent on condition and authenticity. The lower estimate of this object compared to the other vessel is due to the lack of design and carving to the vessel.
I am also updating your items from Sculptures category to the Pre Columbian Art category. Thank you again for your appraisal inquiries with Mearto. Take care.
