Silk, 164" x 114"
Previous employer gave it to me before shutting down.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The item appraised is a Persian Qom-style floor rug. The rug was produced in the Qom province of Iran, and was produced in the 20th century, likely the first half. The rug has a medallion to center on a red ground, floral plants bool throughout the center and more stylized blooms on the blue ground border. The construction is hand-knotted silk. This is quite a large rug, which is not typical of Qom rugs. I am not 100% this is Qom, but I do believe it is Persian.
The issue with your rug, based on the photos, appears to be condition. Based on the photos, there appears to be significant fading/color variation throughout the rug. There is also some fraying to the edges. This does negatively affect the value. My estimate is based on recent auction records, considering the condition.
Kind regards,
Corey
