Roualt Georges Cirque de L’etoile Filante W.eng. Cut by Aubert, Ed. 250 French 1871-1965 115-386-105
Framed piece of art.
Passed down from my grandmother, who collected lots of artwork
Dear Lauren,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a probable aquatint or a wood engraving print on paper with 5 x 8 inches measurements. This print comes from the series with the title "Cirque de L’etoile Filante" (Pl 163). It was made after designs by Georges ROUAULT (1871-1958). The print was engraved by Georges Aubert and published with the other prints of this series as a book by Vollard, Paris, 1938. The book had an edition of 250.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
The artwork itself is 5x8”. The frame is bigger though.
