It is a lovely Japanese sword or Katana from the 20th century, judging from the style of this sword. Tachis and Katanas are a type of traditionally made Japanese sword (nihonto) worn by the samurai class of feudal Japan. Tachi and katana generally differ in length, degree of curvature, and how they were worn when sheathed, the latter depending on the location of the mei, or signature, on the tang. The tachi style of swords preceded the development of the katana, which was not mentioned by name until near the end of the 12th century. Tachis and Katanas are often used indistinctly nowadays due to its similarities.

Very good condition. It is made out of fine iron as well as handcrafted dragon symbols. In addition the traditional Clay Tempering method was used on this blade. Clay tempering method is to apply clay on the spine of the blade, and mainly tempering the edge. This results a hardened edge and softened spine, makes it ideal for cutting.
