The specialist needs more information

Dear Doug,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
So that I may best assist you, can you please state the measurements and upload detailed and focused images of all hallmarks, numbers, and stamps on the metal parts of the weapon? Can you also please have a look if this is a five or six-shot barrel?
Thank you for your help.

With kind regards,
George

Hello George
Each main picture I sent has a ruler showing the size. What more do you need? For this gun it is 36cm/14.2inches long. Height is about 4.5 inches without the firing “pin”? As far as “hallmarks, numbers, and stamps” I gave you everything I see/have. These guns are old. Maybe something at bottom of handle but I can’t make it out (added). Gun still loads/locks and rotates upon pulling tiger. Please confirm this is what you need before I submit the other 3 gun info with your same “ask”. You can always call me EST – Doug: 404-307-8931
Thanks,
Doug

Hello,

My apologies again for the delay. This is an 1861 Savage Navy revolver made for the Civil War. It is a black powder, percussion cap gun in .36 caliber. Most of the metal finish is worn off, and there is some active corrosion forming throughout the piece. The frame, cylinder, and barrel were originally blued, and the remainder of the parts were color-case hardened. The walnut grips are in good condition, and the inspector mark is still visible. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 1,350-1,450 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.

Thank you,
Bo Stuck
