Hello Bryan,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Indian Kashmir Rug. The piece dates back to the period from 2015 to 2021. Kashmir Rugs do usually adopt classical Persian Rug patterns but on this rug we can see a modern colour palette and style interpretation. The piece was decorated on a shiny light blue tone while the borders were decorated on a dark beige, light saffron colour. The piece was knotted silk on silk. The piece was centrally decorated with a classical floral, circular central medallion while the borders on the piece were decorated with Ardabil style Kerman motifs. There are two lanterns hanging from both sides of the central medallion. These lanterns were depicted especially very detailed and vividly. There are four semi-medallion on each corner of the interior central decoration. Rest of the central decoration was filled with duplicated white floral motifs. The knot density of the piece is average for a silk rug and quite high for a normal rug with a KPSI of 486. Likely due to the thickness of pile the motifs were rendered a bit muddy with a small precision loss. The piece has a certificate of authenticity. The piece is in good condition without visible problems.
