He gave this sketch to Vlado and Renata BELICA my brothers godparents. Unclear if he was giving them to them as payment for framing work or because he was happy with the work.

Myron Waldman began his career in 1930 and by April 1934 was elevated to the role of head animator, overseeing timing, storyboard layouts, character design, and sometimes directly animating scenes in his own units. Fleischer Studios was the creators of the theatrical Popeye the Sailor cartoons in the 1930s. He was the head animator on early Popeye shorts.
His Popeye sketches seem to be most desirable to collectors, selling for more than those from other series.
The presence of color in this work elevates it above sketches that are in black and white, though his later pieces do not bring as much as his earlier ones. This has a fair-market value of $1,000-1,500.
