This is a very heavy, solid bronze Art Deco? vase or urn. It measures 9" high and has a 3" diameter at the top opening. This vase is very heavy... it weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces. It has a maker's mark on the base which I could not identify... I'm sending a couple pictures of it in hopes that you recognize it. I don't know anything about the history of this piece... it was purchased at a very nice estate sale, but no one seemed to know anything about it.
I bought this on the last day of an estate sale. No one knew anything about it.
Dear Virginia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The apprised object appears to be a bronze vase with the measurements of 9 inches height. The vase is decorated with flowers and a bust and was made in the style of the Art Nouveau around 1900. Under the bottom, we see an engraving that was made by the former owner.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 60 to 120 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
