Hi Delia,
We found the word that is below George's photo. It is written: Negatives by W & D Downey. thank you
Sincerely,
Adrijus
Thanks Adrijus,
I'm quite sure this would have accompanied a Royal Wedding booklet published in 1893 for the occasion but have not been able to find any examples at auction (or selling privately), or confirm the identity of either the photographer or printer despite your help in saying what they say.
Given the interest in Royal Wedding ephemera, even from such a long time ago, this would likely sell well in an English auction a GBP500-800 estimate. Let me know if you need me to convert that to Euros..
Hi Delia,
Thank you for your help with the appraisal.
We tried to read the writings below each photo: below Mary photo, it Is written: Printed by. W A & and it seems to be the number 18.
Below George's photo, it is written: Negatives by W & D and the last word we couldn't read.
I hope this information will help you with the appraisal. If you have more questions that would help you with the appraisal please let me know.
Thanks,
Adrijus
