It is 2' tall, with a bronze(?) base and stem. Lead crystal pieces in the lamp shade.. pattern, I believe, is flowers. It was purchased in the 50s or 60s
My father had ordered it directly from Tiffany.
Hi Gale,
Thank you for the additional information. Dale Tiffany, Inc. (DTI) was a company making high quality reproductions of Tiffany designs but they should not be confused with Louis Comfort Tiffany (LCT) or Tiffany Studios, the works of which are considered the epitome of Art Nouveau design and can still command top dollar at auction. The base of your lamp is very atypical of those made by LCT
A few recent auction sales of Dale Tiffany lamps follow, to give you an idea of the current auction market for DTI lamps:
$175 - https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/dale-tiffany-leaded-glass-table-lamp-dc64f1783a
$350 - https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/dale-tiffany-inc.-mosaic-slag-glass-lamp-ef44b7bad4 (note the heavy bronze base, which is stylistically very much like what Tiffany Studios made and likely contributes to the high price)
$200 - https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/dale-tiffany-lamp-e2946eea7f
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, you have a:
Dale Tiffany Table Lamp with Leaded Glass Floral Shade
Made 1950s or 1960s
24 inches high
PROVENANCE: acquired from Dale Tiffany
$150-200 (represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary).
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
Where can I sell this at? Do I have to pay shipping or is it billed to the buyer? I do have a couple other things I'd like to get appraised, but does it cost the $19 per item?
Also, if I were to sell just the shade, what could I get for that?
We work with lots of auctioneers from relevant and highly qualified auction houses. Your item is in our database of leads and interested auctioneers will reach out to you directly on your email if they can help you sell your item.
If you said "yes" or "maybe" when we asked if your item was for sale auctioneers are now able to contact you. If you said "no" go to your item page and change that to "yes"
Generally, you are responsible for costs associated with getting the item to the auction house (and returned to you if it does not sell); the buyer generally pays to get the item from the auction house to them.
Yes, each item is $19.
The shade is probably worth at least $100-125 or $125-175; the base appears to be largely decorative.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you so much for your help. The shade is an extra I have that the entire base was not salvageable. So I have my total lamp plus another shade.
I would need to see the other shade to assign a value; I assumed you meant the shade on this specific lamp.
Thank you for all of your help, but I have decided not to sell the lamp.
The Tiffany signature (by Dale Tiffany?) was underneath the bottom base on the lamp. Unfortunately, it kept falling off so I took it off and I don't know where it's at. I will look for it but, in the meantime, I would like to know what it is worth as is. Thank You.
