recently inherited these dolls from my mother. She was 91. I have no idea what they are or where they came from. I remember her saying she played with them as a child. I cannot find any makers marks anywhere. I'm not sure if they are porcelain or bisque.

It is very sweet dolls. Such antique dolls are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
From the photos I can see that the dolls have heads made of porcelain that has been painted after the firing. This was done on dolls from the 1930s-1940s. Before that the dolls faces/heads were painted before the firing. The bodies are made of papermache and composition. The dolls could be german as they had a large production of dolls in the first part of the 20th century.
The clothes are all original and it appears from the photos that all the dolls are in fairly good condition. However unfortunately the market value for such dolls has declined in the past few years.
The estimate provided is for all four dolls sold at a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the dolls has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the sweet dolls. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
