Hi Daniel,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
There is a group of furniture, much of it made in England, called "Green Man" furniture which features carved faces or masks and refers to pre-Christian mythology but has been made in many different Western cultures and centuries, mostly in Europe.
If you'd like this appraisal to include dimensions - which is customary - please send the overall height, width across the arms and the length of the rockers and I'll update this ASAP.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A late Victorian "Green Man" carved oak rocking armchair
English, late 19th Century
The stiles headed by carved heads flanking a tufted blue-velvet upholstered back and rounded seat, the scrolled arms raised on cabriole supports, on rockers
