This copper pot came from a collection of antique copper items from Turkey. It measures 11 inches tall and 10 inches from handle to spout. It is heavy for its compact size. It seems durable and well crafted.
Part of an auction collection, lot/unknown provenance

Hi Rhonda,
Yes, I did notice it. The handle looks incongruous with the rest of the pot; in my opinion, it probably had a strap handle that wore out and someone attached it later.
Of course, now that you mention it, the handle looks like some sort of add on and out of place. Too shiny.
Thank you.
Hi Delia:
I would like to now if you noticed the shot of the brass handle of the teapot. I traveled a lot to Istanbul in the 1980s and learned about Ottoman items when I toured Topkapi Palace and went to the Souks for shopping. The shape of the handle I seem to remember is a kind of signature or mark for the Ottomans. What do you think?
Thank you as always. :)
