Made by Phil Ward out of basswood 9-13-2024 using a combination of Xacto and Dremel. It depicted the moments after Jesus announces that someone at the table has betrayed him.. At the time that he makes the pronouncement, he and Judas both have their hands in the same wash bowl. Judas yanks his hand out spilling the salt shaker, as depicted, giving rise to the adage that "every grain of salt is a tear shed"..Peter is seen with his knife drawn in his right haNd attempting to identify the traitor so he can kill him. Several weeks later he does use the knife when he cuts off the ear of a Roman soldier who was attempting to arrest Jesus. Took 38 hours to carve and I manufactured the frame.
