A saber and steel sheathe. Blade is patterned. A few small blemishes on the blade. Steel wrist guard and golden tassel
About 60 inches
I inherited this from my grandfather. It was retrieved from the Pacific theatre in the Second World War by my great grandfather. It has been in my grandfather's attic weatherized attic for many decades.
Dear Aaron,
Thank you for your help and patience. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be a US M 1902 regulation sword with a length of 60 inches. The blade has an etched decor and there is no manufacturer stamp visible.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 250 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Gregory
Hi - do you have any more information here?
Hi,
I added 2 photos of close ups of the engravings on the blade. I do not see anything like a serial number or a signature. I hope this is helpful.
Thanks,
Aaron
