32” x 46”
Purchased at an estate sale. The previous owner had a house full of Native American artifacts.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a Navajo Yei rug of the 1930s. The female yei deities depicted with long bodies and holding sacred plants or sacred symbols.
Basically the traditional sandpainting images of Navajo healing ceremonies are repeated and transformed in a flatweave technique. The four deities are surrounded by an orange color rainbow line on three sides. The estimate is based on similar offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
Most excellent. Thank you very much, Klaus
