One is in very good condition the other is a bit flimsy and bends when lifted. All together the glass is all attached and no breaks or cracks. Honestly these were my mothers and she doesn’t know what they are because it’s been 60 years or so. Maybe they are lamp shades is all I could think of no idea. They look really cool though.

Hi Jason,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Would it be possible to see a photograph taken from directly above these, to get a sense of the uniformity of the design of all the elements?
Also, can you confirm that there aren't openings at the tops?
Thanks,
Delia
Hi Jason,
Not wanting to hold up this appraisal further, and after some additional research, I'm fairly confident that these would have been set into some sort of wooden or metal frame and used as caps for exterior lights. I would not be surprised if these had been made in (much) greater quantity, with just these two having survived together.
As architectural "fragments," and being so fragile, they will have limited appeal on the market but I can easily see these bringing $150-250 at auction (if sold together; $75-125 if sold separately).
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A pair of Arts & Crafts slag glass and leaded lighting covers
1930s-50s
Height: 4 inches; width: 12 inches; depth: 12 inches
CONDITION: These are fragile but appear to be largely intact
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$75-125 each or $150-250 for the pair*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
