Dear John,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on board with unknown measurements. The painting depicts a landscape with a chariot in the middle. In the right corner, we see the signature Eug. Delacroix and the dating 1849. Neither the artistic quality nor the motif itself is comparable to late works of the famous French artist Eugène DELACROIX (1798-1863). Delacroix was in his late period an impressive and excellent painter of animals especially horses.
The named arguments classify this artwork a fake or copy which has no value on the art market.

With kind regards,
Georg
