I inherited this sculpture from my dad , who passed away in November 2022. He lived in Nigeria in the late 1960s. He bought many African pieces, and I believe this is from Africa but am not sure.

An antique African carved hardwood figure
Probably West African, 20th Century
The standing male figure with tall arched stylized coiffure and waist covering, on a short foot. With a later cowrie shell necklace. Unmarked.
11 inches tall
CONDITION: This carving appears to be in generally good condition with minor wear and paint loss commensurate to age and use. Age crack to side of head.
PROVENANCE: inherited
