Hi Jose,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The values Mearto provides are fair-market, based on recent auction sales and typically come in a 1/3-1/2 what a dealer or gallery might ask.
Chinese low tables "of the period," ie, those made before the 20th Century, usually were not fitted with more than one, occasionally two, drawers; to have four drawers suggests a more recent date of manufacture, probably second half 20th Century.
The value of $300-500 is in-line with what other examples have been sold for at auction within the last few years.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Chinese elm low table
Second half 20th Century
Of rectangular section, the top with molded edge raised on a frame with ogee returns and fitted with four short drawers with iron (or steel?) loop pulls, on four molded edged squared legs joined by side stretchers. Presumably unmarked.
19 inches high, 72 inches long, 18 inches wide
CONDITION: This table appears to be in very good condition with a nice mildly rustic patina commensurate with its age and use.
PROVENANCE: Acquired from a dealer or gallery.
$300-500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
