Dear Jeff,
Thank you for your request. Regarding a technical issue, your messages/ images were not displayed. I very much ask for apologies for this delay.
The research of an old master painting needs a bit more effort and time in comparison to a later signed painting. I ask you for some patience while I collect the needed informations.
With kind regards,
Georg
Just checking to see if you’ve made any progress. Thanks
Dear Jeff,
Thank you for the additional information and your patience. Regarding a technical issue, your messages were not displayed. I very much ask for apologies for this delay.
The apprised object appears to be painting in oil on canvas with the measurements of 18 x 15 inches. The artwork depicts the portrait of a woman in a representative court dress of the early 17th century. This painting was once bigger and a part is cut out. On the reverse side, we find the dating in roman umbers 1620 (MDLXII) and a title that is sadly not solvable. The woman has some similarities with Marie de' Medici in the features of the face and the color of the eyes. Sadly this is not mentioned on the mysterious inscription on the reverse side.
This piece is in good condition.
An estimation would be between 2.000 to 4.000 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Georg,
Do you have the ability to assist in helping me sell it?
Dear Jeff,
Thank you for your inquiry about consigning through Mearto. When you submitted your item to us for appraisal, did you select "yes" or "maybe" when you were asked if it was for sale? If so, your item automatically entered a database, which is accessed by a number of regional and international auction houses actively seeking new items for consignment. If there is any interest, they will contact you directly through our platform. You will receive an email notification if one of them makes an inquiry. If you selected "no" when asked if the item was for sale, you can change this so that your item enters the database. Just visit "my collection," select the item, then click the "edit item" button at the top of the page. On the resulting page, click "yes" or "maybe" to answer the question: "Are you looking to sell this item?" Good luck and if there's anything else I can do to help, please just let me know!
With kind regards,
Georg
No worries...do you have access to the pictures now? I’m really in no rush and would appreciate accuracy and thoroughness over speed.
