Dear Mr. Kelly – Thank you for adding images of your room divider to Mearto. I believe the piece you have is Chinese rather than Japanese and dates to the first third of the 20th century. At auction, you will find a large gap between prices as similar screens are currently selling between $160USD and as much as $400USD. Other than the fine condition, what makes your exceptional is tthe number of panels, it is more common to have a four-panel screen rather than seven, for those reasons, if this piece was in a retail gallery, I would expect to see it priced between $1400USD and $2000USD. That being said, retail prices vary widely depending upon regional variations, market tastes and dealer preference.
