Good evening, Annie,
Thank you for submitting photographs for appraisal at Mearto.
This is a primitive Chinese bamboo and (possibly) teak cabinet, probably second half 20th Century, with what appear to be older brass hardware, though the pulls on the three horizontal drawers look to me as though they may be newer. It is possible that this was constructed of older parts, and most likely for export for the Western market. The lack of the two drawers does affect the value a little and the value I have assigned would be a little higher if they were still with the cabinet. Otherwise, the condition seems generally sound, though the wood appears somewhat dry and there may be some variations and shrinkage to the wood throughout, though that contributes to the provincial appeal of the piece.
I hope this information has been useful to you. Please let us know if you have additional questions, and many thanks for using Mearto.
The insurance appraisal for this item is $600.
