The bottom of these chairs were redone by a professional in 1974 and the chairs have been stained a darker color. I purchased them in the late 1980's and believe them to be original but can not find a marking. Please advise.
I purchased four of these chairs in the late 1980's. They were being used as lounge chairs in a Doctor's office and the elderly Dr. had passed away and they were selling all of the furniture.
These Mid-Century Modern Danish chairs were designed by Hans Jorgensen Wegner (1914-2007). The style form is C22 and they were produced from Wegner's design by Carl Hansen and Son. The design features arm rests that are cantilevered and a curved back rest with inlay. The original woven seat would have been made with Danish paper cord. The professional refurbishing of the chairs in 1974 allowed for longevity and appears to have been well-done, however the dark staining does impact the valuable as they are no longer in the original finish. Expect to garner $800 - $1200 per chair, the valuation reflects the total of four chairs.
