80cm x 60cm Oil painting encased in wooden frame with wooden back panel and glass on front. Panting name and Artist inscribed on metal plate in front. Artist's signature clearly visible
The painting was on display in Maharajah's residence in India. We bought the property with all artefacts and furniture intact after the Maharajah's death in 1965. There are 28 paintings, 11 sculptures and many other items on display.

The presented object appears to be a painting made with oil on canvas with the measurements of 35 x 25 cm. The painting depicts a landscape with a rocky coastline. This painting is signed with the name Ch. Dratz. There are two artists listed that could fit with this signature. Charles Frédéric DRATZ (1848-?) and Charles DRATZ-BARAT (1905-1967). Charles Dratz-Barat signs usually with his full last name Dratz-Barat. There are very few paintings offered by Charles Frédéric DRATZ (1873-1951) but the signature is comparable.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
