This is a Chippendale chair that appears to be made of mahogany. It is extensivey carved at the top portion of the back splat and at the knees. There is a beautiful darker wood patina at the top of the back splat and on parts of the legs, almost black. The chair is 42 inches tall from the back to the floor. The back is 18.75 inches wide at the top portion. The height from the cushion to the floor is 18.75 inches. The chair height from the seat's frame to the floor is 16.25 inches. The seat depth is 20 inches. The seat width is 21 inches at the widest point. It is a heavy piece. There is a nick or two on the nees and one or two at the top of the back splat. Otherwise, it is in beautiful condition -- very sturdy and tight. It was a single piece at the American Veterans sale.
