Kanansville N.C. , confederate state armory, 1863
Hi William,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This artillery short sword was made by the Ames Manufacturing Company in Chicopee, MA, and would have been shipped to Confederate both before and after secession in 1861.
I can't see where it says "Kenansville N.C. , confederate state armory" or "1863" but will take your word for it and have valued this sword accordingly.
With a scabbard, this is worth $800-1,200
