What does this mean?

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and Happy Memorial Day.
At your convenience, can you please confirm...you have six chairs (four side chairs and two armchairs)?
Does the table have any leaves and if so, how many and what is the greatest length of the table with all leaves inserted? I am guessing the table is about 30 inches tall (that's fairly standard) so if the height is more than an inch from that - either higher or lower - please let me know as it may be telling as to the age or any alterations that may have been made.

Many thanks in advance,
Delia

Hi Delia,

Happy Memorial Day to you too! You are correct, I have 6 chairs, 2 arm chairs, and 4 side chairs. The table does not have any original leaves, although we made some out of particle board (they do not match but I'm happy to include them, they work well if using a table cloth), and the table can extend out to seat 12. The table is 30 inches tall as you guessed. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

If the leaves were original, they would add to the value of the table.
Based on this, and the photos, you have:
A Regency style mahogany double-pedestal dining table, together with four side chairs and two armchairs. Table with additional particleboard leaves (no value)
English, late 19th/early 20th Century
table approximately 30 inches high, 43 1/2 inches wide, 67 inches long
client represents one chair has been repaired; everything else in good condition.
Table: 400-600*
Chairs: 300-500*
If sold together: $700-1,100*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
