Mayan vase with figure.

Description

Ceramic Mayan vase with a human figure on the front. Colors are good. Has some wear. (Supposedy) comes from a tomb. I purchased it from an 82-year-old dealer who inherited a very large collection from his archaeologist grandmother. He says she traveled through South America, Mexico and Central America from the 1920s up until about 1940. She left small notes with many of the pieces (see photo), which were shipped in large barrels back to her home in the US. No written provenance but the details of his story sound believable!
