A signed 10"x12" etching or lithograph on lite to medium weight paper of a sketch depicting a seated dancer adjusting her slipper. The main colors are black, gray and light blue. The dancer's bow is dark blue and there is a hint of brown on the right chair leg. The paper is very fragile and has been under glass for quite some time. There is a label on the back of the frame from the framing company that did the framing and there is also a piece of paper taped to the back of the frame that reads: "Dancer tying her shoe".
The piece was purchased at a thrift store. Nothing else is known about the history of this specific piece.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a faded offset print of the 1960s after a pastel by Edgar Degas "Danseuse serrant ses pantoufles". The acid in the backing cardboard and direct sunlight faded the colours and browned the paper. The offset printing technique is clearly visible, you will notice the tiny round dots. Unfortunately this reproduction print has a very modest value, if at all.
